I work in the Mathematical Sciences Institute at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia.

I am interested in geometric and categorical constructions in representation theory, especially those constructions which relate to the geometry of symplectic algebraic varieties (quiver varieties, Hilbert schemes of points on an ALE spaces, hypertoric varieties, the Springer resolution of the nilpotent cone, etc); such constructions are all part of the program of higher representation theory and categorification.

My wife Joan is also a mathematician.
