Welcome to Math 350, Sections 01-02.

Textbook:

  • Stephen H. Friedberg, Arnold J. Insel and Lawrence E. Spence, Linear Algebra (4th edition), Prentice Hall, ISBN 0-13-008451-4
  • You are not required to purchase any textbook, as long as you learn the material and get a way to figure out the homework problems.

Grading Scheme:

  • Final Exam: 200 points
  • Two mid-term Exams: 100 points each, held in class on October 5, 2011 (Wednesday) and on November 21, 2011 (Monday)
  • Quizzes: 10 points each. These are to be held in class every Monday (unless otherwise specified). These will be about homework problems that are assigned the previous Monday (see below). The two lowest scores will be dropped.

Homework:

  • Homework will be assigned every Monday. You do not need to turn them in. However, you will be quizzed about them the next Monday in class.
  • All homework will be assigned from the textbook unless otherwise specified.
